We are recruiting for various Non-Executive Director roles for Digital, Brands and Retail businesses with listed and non-listed businesses. As a NED of these innovative businesses you will guide and mentor the executive team and become familiar with the fundamentals of the business and financial performance. You will have strong financial acumen and will be an expert in your sector. Your previous, successful experience as an Executive Director or NED will guide the business to success.

 

The responsibilities of a Non-Executive Director include:

 

  • Collaborative formulation of the organisation’s strategic direction
  • Mentor, challenge and performance management of the Executive Team
  • Review and monitor the strategic business plan and annual budget
  • Capital Management and projects
  • Contribution to the development of board and organisational policies
  • Compliance with legal and regulatory requirements; monitoring risk
  • Identifying skills required by the board
  • Effective governance of the organisation
  • Utilise external networks of use to the business

 

The successful candidate will bring an independent and fresh perspective to decision-making; whilst demonstrating relevant competency, experience and ethical behaviour. You will be competent challenging, questioning and monitoring the executive management team; and will utilise their external networks which are of use to the company, to support and mentor the CEO.

Our client is a modern-bohemian fashion brand who have gone global and are known for their premium aesthetic. They are seeking a Senior Designer to join their small design team with a chance to work alongside the creative director, designing, developing and planning ranges.  

Job tasks and responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to: 

  • Support the Creative Director to identify and develop seasonal collections
  • Manage the process of creating a balanced range, designing and developing key seasonal shapes, trends and items across categories
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across departments including Design, Development & Sales management teams to create & build each range
  • Manage x2 Junior Designers
  • Management of Design calendar deadlines and understanding of seasonal calendar
  • Offer clear direction at technical handover to enable development team to interpret design aesthetic with accuracy
  • Maintain the brands aesthetic at all times whilst moving the brand forward with fresh inspiring ideas
  • Constant monitoring of sales reports to lead direction of each range
  • Ability to use hand & CAD to produce illustrations and technical drawings
  • Attend fittings and collaborate with other designers in the team, technical team and pattern makers for adherence to quality and brand standards
  • Dynamically contribute to forecasting, seasonally & monthly, whilst having awareness of margin and profitability of all product
  • International travel to factories and for inspiration trips as required


Skills and experience 
To match with the business values and fit this role you will:

  • A degree in fashion design or related field
  • A minimum of 5 years within a design team
  • Advanced knowledge of garment construction, including fit and finishes
  • The ability to visualise from swatch to body
  • Good interpersonal skills to communicate and build relationships at all levels
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong knowledge of yarns, fabrics and trims
  • Advanced skills with Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
  • Excellent technical drawing ability
  • Strong management skills and the ability to inspire a team
