JIVARO are currently working with one of Australia's most reputable designer brands who are currently going through a period of growth and are seeking a highly motivated and driven Accessories and Footwear Designer to join their team. The brand creates beautiful hand finished product, with a strong focus on prints and embellishments therefore previous experience with Print manipulation onto accessories would be highly advantageous.

This role will focus on soft accessories as well as leather bags and footwear.
Within this role you will be responsible for creating product design and working closely with the design team to interpret key trends and develop accessories from initial concept through to final product.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Range planning for the accessories department including bags, belts, hats, jewellery and scarves
  • Sample development alongside the Creative Director
  • Manage pre-production samples and work closely with production team to communicate all styles and quality specs
  • Responsible for sourcing and development of trims and fabrics
  • Taking briefs from from Creative Director and execute accordingly
  • Manage and mentor an Accessories Developer

To be successful for this role, you will have: 
  • Previous experience in designing quality, high end accessories
  • A great eye for detail and an excellent knowledge of different trims and fabrics
  • Excellent computer skills, previous AP21 experience is desired but not essential
  • Possess a genuine passion for high end fashion accessories

Based in beautiful Queensland, you will be responsible for 50+ mens' apparel stores across the state and Northern NSW. Driving success from the front, implementing retail operations which ensure efficiency across all in house functions. 

Key Responsibilities: 
 

  • Manage and monitor all day to day activities across stores, with an emphasis on sales growth and best practice being paramount 
  • Partner with Area and other State team members to share strategy and celebrate success
  • Reporting into the MD, you will truly play a part in the future direction and add value to the retail delivery in Australia
  • Implementing business plans for your State 
  • Maximising sales and profits whilst controlling costs
  • Communicating clear direction for your team, ensuring employees remain engaged and supported
  • Ensure all legislation is maintained and adhered too


To be Successful: 

  • Demonstrated experience as a State Manager at an advanced level in all areas of large multi-site management.
  • Local and national travel is expected, a driver’s licence is required for this role.
  • Apparel retail experience is preferred.
  • Strong commercial awareness and a proven track record of delivering results.
  • Passionate about people, team development and customers.
  • Excellent planning, time management and organisational skills.


This position offers a company car or car allowance as there will be an emphasis on travel across stores. 

You will have a company laptop and mobile phone to ensure for best practice and ease!

Job tasks and responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Researching initial ideas for detail and silhouette
  • Sourcing reference materials for print, embroidery and trim
  • Maintaining the design board for Swimwear
  • Drawing final board sketches of all styles (front & back)
  • Completing technical sketches and splicing CADs for factory use
  • Use of multi-media and print manipulations
  • Inputting all trim information and finishings
Skills and experience 
To match with the business values and fit this role you will have:
  • 3-4 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Strong technical drawing abilities
  • Possess a personal style, creative instincts and strong design skills that can be expressed through hand illustrations
  • Swimwear experience is advantageous
