Key Responsibilities:
  • Reporting directly into the Head of Design, you will be assisting in designing monthly ranges across brands under direction of the head of womenswear.
  • Developing ranges into high quality product and managing this process from end to end.
  • Tech pack creation and CADs to handover to factories
  • Creating & maintaining up to date monthly range boards
  • Attend fittings for all collections and follow designs from inception through to production - from first sample to final sample. 
  • Work closely with garment technicians and production team to ensure all product information, changes and comments are communicated accurately
  • Look book & campaign photoshoots
  • Complete trend research through the local market, online retailers, trend forecast website and social media
About You & Benefits:
  • Qualification in Fashion Design
  • Three years' experience in fashion design - Assistant Designer/Design Assistant
  • Fluent in Adobe creative Suite, Microsoft office
  • Possess a personal style, creative instincts and strong design skills

Job Role:
  • Lead the designs for the denim, knitwear and accessories collections
  • Meeting financial targets
  • Design cohesively; ensuring each collection has a clear vision and identity that is consistently adhered to through all styles in the collection
  • Ensure all collections are clearly and obviously recognisable 
  • Make strategic design decisions to ensure you are designing a balance of shapes suited to customers 
  • Showcase your technical abilities to build high quality collection briefs in a timely manner
Requirements
  • Prior experience of 2+ years in a similar role (strong experience in women's denim & knitwear is highly desired)r
  • Tertiary qualification in Fashion Design or relevant field
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft products, (specifically Excel)
  • Brand aesthetic and handwriting
  • A proven background of producing high quality CAD & hand sketch designs in a timely manner

  • To design, drive and develop a beautiful commercial collection and range
  • Work from initial concept to final samples in collaboration with the in house pattern team
  • Trend research - Identifying and interpreting in line with the handwriting of the brand
  • Garment construction and technical knowledge
  • Work with the fabric team to develop the range for each season
  • Range plan management and maintain key standards on fit and quality
  • Commercial product design and range building
  • Garment construction and technical knowledge
  • Ensure comprehensive knowledge of local and overseas market trends through various mediums including magazines and online research
  • Analyse relevance of trends for brand and plan ranges accordingly in collaboration with buyer
  • Ensure 'finger on pulse' of emerging trends 
  • Create/visualise outstanding new designs in line with the clients handwriting
  • Demonstrate broad awareness of competitors and external trends
  • Research fabric trends for the season and brief production team to source fabric and trims 

Skills and Experience: 
  • 3 + years' experience in a fashion business
  • Have a good knowledge of fabrics, trims, garment construction, washing, finishing and pattern making process.
  • Computer skilled, particularly in Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite and AP21
  • Highly organised and a keen eye for detail.

They are seeking a Product Development/ Designer to join their design team with a focus on denim, jersey and leather. Key Responsibilities: 
  • Product development for sports licensing products 
  • Responsible for the on-time execution of each season from sampling through to complete handover to production.
  • Forefront of new technological developments in fabrics, hardware and trims across a global supply base.
  • Communicating with suppliers to ensure the on-time delivery of fabrics and trims.
  • Creating technical drawings for developed components using Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Manage and attend fittings for all Special Categories.
  • Provide Design and Pre-Production Coordinator with all relevant information for seasonal style in AP21.

  • Design and develop all seasonal apparel ranges in the casual womens category
  • Work with apparel styles from design handover through to bulk production approval

Requirements
  • 5 years minimum experience and proven track record, catering to consumer needs, in a
  • similar apparel market 
  • Experience in development of fashion products.
  • Experience liaising with overseas suppliers is imperative
  • Experience in pre-production
  
Experience: 
  • Understanding of the production process
  • Sound understanding in textiles/fabrics
  • Fit testing knowledge. Preferable across multiple fashion categories
  • Garment construction knowledge
  • Negotiating costs with suppliers
  • Microsoft experience
  • Time management skills to ensure all deadlines are met
  • Experience in or across USA markets preferred
