An exciting opportunity has become available for an Area Manager to join a fast -growing dynamic global sleepwear brand. In this newly created role, you will be responsible for enhancing the growth of our retail environment. This brand is focussed on creating luxury & comfortable sleepwear with a focus on sustainability.

Responsibilities include:
  • Maximising sales and profitability across the region’s stores
  • Setting targets and performance objectives for store teams to achieve and exceed
  • Manage operations across the stores including wage control, loss prevention, reporting and store costs
  • Team management of performance including goal setting, empowering, coaching and celebrating our successes
  • Regular store assessment visits: identifying areas of improvement and addressing these were necessary
  • Lead by example driving exceptional customer service with the team while ensuring an energetic store atmosphere
  • Proactive approach to stock management; effectively able to communicate with Support Office teams regarding stock management opportunities and product feedback monthly
  • Fulfilling online orders in full, on time
  • Creating and increasing customer loyalty database including “clienteling” and holding store events to drive sales
Skills and experience 
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a retail management role
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of retail sales and operations
  • Proven success in coaching, training, and developing teams to achieve results
  • Demonstrated abilities in budget planning and monitoring
  • A structured operator who can effectively manage their own time
  • Thrives in fast-paced and creative environments
  • Strong ability to build relationships with key stakeholders as well as retail customers
KPI’s
  • Retail sales, wage, operational costs, loss prevention, staff turnover exceed targets
  • Fulfillment of online store on time, delivery in full
  • Team engagement x%, career development and coaching monthly

About the role:

We are seeking a Head of Buying and Design to be responsible for leading the design, development, sourcing & purchasing of products as well as designing and delivering a strong business strategy that will aid in the overall success of this leading fashion label. Reporting to the Brand Creative Director, this role will be involved in the analysis of the retail market, competitors to develop strategic sourcing strategy and business objectives. You will ensure alignment to brand and overall vision throughout the design & development lifecycle and contribute to the creative vision to ensure the growth and engagement of the fashion house. 

This role requires a leader who is highly driven, the ideal candidate will come from a strong senior buying position, and will possess the skills and qualities that a strong buyer will require including outstanding negotiation skills.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that buying and design strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality and delivery target.
  • Oversee alignment to range vision established within the design & development process
  • Support the global sourcing strategy to ensure effective production management.
  •  Develop, monitor and manage operating plans and financial budgets that support the businesses medium-term and long-term strategy.
  • Provide leadership to departments under control. Coach, mentor and develop direct reports and manage a high performing team that delivers continuous improvement, added value and cost reductions
  • Support brand product strategies & drive growth of the business.
  • Provide input into product trends, colours and print forecasting.
Key Requirements:
  •  5+ years’ experience in a similar role. Demonstrable experience of leading a buying or design function with a proven track record in strategic purchasing leadership delivering effective purchasing strategies, policies, processes and systems
  • Solid knowledge and experience of fashion, mass retail, merchandising and the global retail market is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and adapt to dynamic, fast-paced work environment
  • Proven ability to set a strategy, influence buy in from multiple stakeholders and activate for flawless execution against a plan
  • Exceptional creative flair

We have a great opportunity for an experienced Quality Assurance Officer for the dresses category with strong knowledge of garment construction to join our team. The role is responsible for driving the quality and fit for our high profile event range.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a technical position in the fashion industry including structured garments, preferably dresses.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook and Word) and PLM software
  • Critical path management in a fast paced and evolving retail environment
  • Full knowledge of garment construction and sound knowledge of pattern making and grading
